PM Modi Inaugurates Grameen Bharat Mahotsav 2025, Emphasizes Rural Empowerment

New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the Grameen Bharat Mahotsav 2025 at Bharat Mandapam, New Delhi, under the theme ‘Building a Resilient Rural India for a Viksit Bharat 2047’. The festival aims to celebrate rural India’s entrepreneurial spirit, cultural heritage, and innovative contributions to national development.

In his address, PM Modi expressed pride in India’s villages, emphasizing their immense potential and the government’s commitment to rural upliftment. “Ensuring a dignified life for rural citizens remains our priority,” he stated, reflecting on initiatives like Swachh Bharat Mission, PM Awaas Yojana, and Jal Jeevan Mission, which have transformed rural living conditions.

Rural Economic Growth and Opportunities

Highlighting economic reforms, the Prime Minister mentioned initiatives such as PM Kisan Samman Nidhi, which has disbursed ₹3 lakh crore to farmers, and Kisan Credit Cards for livestock and fish farmers. He also noted increased Minimum Support Prices (MSP) and the rise of Farmer Producer Organizations (FPOs).

The event underscored the importance of MSMEs, with over one crore rural MSMEs benefiting from government schemes. Programs like Mudra Yojana and Start-Up India have empowered rural youth and enhanced employment opportunities.

Women Empowerment in Rural India

PM Modi praised the contributions of rural women, emphasizing initiatives like Lakhpati Didi Scheme, which has enabled 1.15 crore women to achieve financial independence. The government aims to increase this number to 3 crore.

Infrastructure and Digital Transformation

Modern infrastructure, including 4 lakh km of rural roads built under Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana, and expanded digital connectivity with over 5 lakh Common Service Centers, were highlighted as key drivers of progress.

The Grameen Bharat Mahotsav 2025, running from January 4 to 9, aims to foster rural innovation, entrepreneurship, and cultural pride. Discussions, workshops, and exhibitions will focus on financial inclusion, sustainable agriculture, and rural self-reliance, with a special emphasis on empowering women and youth.

The event marks a significant step towards realizing ‘Viksit Bharat 2047’, ensuring inclusive growth and prosperity across India’s rural heartland.
