INS Tushil Strengthens Naval Ties with Morocco During Casablanca Visit

Casablanca, December 28, 2024: In a significant step towards strengthening bilateral relations and enhancing naval cooperation, the Indian Naval Ship (INS) Tushil arrived at Casablanca, Morocco on December 27, 2024. Morocco, a strategic maritime nation with coastlines along both the Mediterranean Sea and the Atlantic Ocean, shares common maritime interests with India.

The visit of INS Tushil aims to explore new avenues of collaboration between the two navies. Notably, this visit follows the recent deployment of INS Tabar, INS Tarkash, and INS Sumedha to Casablanca over the past year, underscoring growing mutual trust and operational interoperability between the two naval forces.

Key Objectives of INS Tushil’s Visit:

  • Naval Cooperation: Strengthen operational ties and explore future joint initiatives between the Indian Navy and the Royal Moroccan Navy.
  • Diplomatic Engagements: Host senior officials and distinguished guests to foster goodwill and strengthen diplomatic relations.
  • Knowledge Exchange: Facilitate crew-level interactions for sharing best practices and operational expertise.

During the two-day port call, the crew of INS Tushil will engage with Royal Moroccan Navy personnel through professional exchanges and collaborative discussions. The visit will culminate with a Passage Exercise (PASSEX) at sea, aimed at improving interoperability, coordination, and mutual understanding between the two navies.
