Delhi, 28 DEC 2023 – The Delhi Development Authority (DDA) marked its 67th Sansthapana Diwas with fervor and distinction, receiving accolades from Shri Hardeep Singh Puri, Union Minister of Housing & Urban Affairs and Petroleum & Natural Gas, for its pivotal role in shaping the capital city’s growth. The celebration, attended by key dignitaries including Lt Governor Shri V K Saxena, showcased the DDA’s substantial contributions to Delhi’s progress over the years.
Shri Puri, extending his best wishes to the DDA, emphasized the agency’s indispensable contributions to Delhi’s transformation into a global metropolis. He lauded the DDA for ensuring the inclusion of economically weaker sections in the city’s ambitious developmental plans. Underlining the DDA’s commitment to social welfare, Shri Puri highlighted successful initiatives such as the In-Situ Slum Rehabilitation Project, which has provided homes to the vulnerable sections of society. Additionally, the DDA is actively working towards conferring ownership rights to the residents of 1,731 unauthorized colonies in Delhi under the PM UDAY scheme.
In his address, Lt. Governor Shri V K Saxena, who serves as the Chairman of DDA, commended the agency’s dedication and hard work in shaping the national capital. Acknowledging the complexity of Delhi’s dynamic landscape with multiple agencies in operation, he emphasized the pivotal role played by the DDA in achieving holistic development.
To recognize the exemplary efforts of DDA employees, several officers and staff were honored for their outstanding contributions to the organization. The celebration also featured a vibrant cultural evening. As a tribute to the agency’s journey, a coffee table book was unveiled, offering insights into the DDA’s evolution. A corporate film highlighting the agency’s achievements was also launched during the event.
In the lead-up to Sansthapana Diwas, DDA organized various events, including a brainstorming session on ‘New ideas, New Innovations, and the way forward for DDA.’ The Vice Chairman of DDA engaged in interactions with young officers to understand their perspectives on challenges and opportunities. The celebration also encompassed a range of sporting events, both indoor and outdoor, reflecting the agency’s dynamic and inclusive approach to commemorating its 67th Sansthapana Diwas.
