Empowered Entrepreneurship: Insha Shabir’s Inspiring Journey with DAY-NRLM
New Delhi, 28 DEC 2023 – In the picturesque valley of Jammu & Kashmir’s Pulwama district, the tale of Insha Shabir unfolds, echoing the themes of independence, resilience, and transformation. From humble beginnings in Aarigam, Pulwama, Insha has emerged as a successful business owner, steering her boutique towards success, thanks to the Central Government’s Deen Dayal Antyodaya Yojana – National Rural Livelihood Mission (DAY-NRLM). Her story symbolizes the potential of this transformative initiative.
Background of DAY-NRLM: The Deen Dayal Antyodaya Yojana – National Rural Livelihood Mission, launched by the Ministry of Rural Development in 2011, aims to establish effective institutional platforms for the rural poor. Its goal is to enhance household income through sustainable livelihood advancements and improved access to financial services.
Insha’s Journey with DAY-NRLM: During the ongoing Vikasit Bharat Sankalp Yatra, Insha shared her journey with the media, emphasizing that she first learned about DAY-NRLM in 2017 and promptly registered for it. Her passion for designing and crafting clothes led her to enroll in the local tailoring school under DAY-NRLM. This marked the turning point in her life, as her talent evolved into a viable business opportunity and a means of livelihood.
Entrepreneurial Dreams Realized: Upon completing her design course, Insha aspired to establish her own boutique. With the support of a PMEGP Umeed loan and the financial backing from DAY-NRLM, Insha turned her dream into reality by setting up her boutique. The subsidized loan provided through the scheme proved to be the crucial catalyst for her entrepreneurial journey.
Empowering the Youth and Creating Opportunities: Insha expressed gratitude for the government’s business schemes, emphasizing their role in fostering youth empowerment and contributing to the development of a new, prosperous India. She highlighted the significance of these initiatives in ensuring that individuals from modest backgrounds and rural areas can embark on successful entrepreneurial ventures. Insha underscored the impact of these schemes, enabling her not only to achieve financial independence but also to provide employment to other women through her boutique.
Synonymous with Development and Self-Reliance: Although modest in size, Insha’s boutique has become synonymous with development (vikas) and self-reliance (aatmanirbharta). Her success story resonates as a testament to the transformative potential of initiatives like DAY-NRLM in unlocking the entrepreneurial spirit of individuals, even in the face of limited resources.*
Insha Shabir’s journey stands as a beacon of hope and inspiration, illustrating how determined individuals, supported by strategic government initiatives, can overcome challenges and turn dreams into reality.
