In a resounding effort to bolster traditional artisans, the Ministry of Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises, under the dynamic PM Vishwakarma Yojna, orchestrated an enlightening awareness program in Sonipat, Haryana. The event, held at GVM Girls College on Murthal Road, garnered immense participation from artisans eager to leverage the transformative benefits of this visionary scheme.

The distinguished Shri Mohanlal Badoli, MLA of Rai Assembly Constituency, District Sonipat, graced the occasion as the chief guest. The program, led by Shri Sanjeev Chawla, Director of MSME DFO, Karnal, unfolded with a comprehensive video presentation elucidating the intricacies of the PM Vishwakarma Scheme. The visionary scheme, encapsulated by the pillars of Sammaan, Samarthya, and Samriddhi, aims to propel the holistic development of traditional artisans.

Shri Chawla expounded on the significance of the scheme, shedding light on the registration process and on-boarding of Gram Panchayat/Urban Local Body. The crux of the awareness program lies in disseminating crucial information about the Government of India’s assistance, fostering the overall growth of artisans.

Addressing the gathering, Shri Mohanlal Badoli fervently urged all artisans in Haryana to register and seize the myriad benefits extended by the scheme. Dr. Ishita Ganguli Tripathy, Additional Development Commissioner representing the Ministry of MSME, shared valuable insights into the scheme’s genesis, having been launched by the Hon’ble Prime Minister on September 17, 2023.

Under this groundbreaking initiative, artisans stand to receive toolkits worth up to Rs 15,000, collateral-free loans of up to Rs 3 lakh at a mere 5% interest rate, free skill training, a daily allowance of Rs 500, marketing assistance, and official certification through artisan identity cards. Dr. Tripathy emphasized the remarkable 55% participation of women in the scheme, urging all to seize this opportunity for self-reliance and entrepreneurial endeavors.

The program witnessed participation from key figures such as Shri Rakesh Kadyan, City Project Officer (Urban Local Body) Sonipat, and representatives of the district administration, Shri Paramveer Saini and Shri Dinesh Swami. CSC Centre, setting up 10 informative stalls, facilitated on-the-spot registration of artisans spanning 18 different categories.

Shri V.P. Singh Walia, Joint Director of District MSME Centre, Sonipat, delivered a heartfelt vote of thanks, expressing gratitude to the attendees, including Assistant Directors and around 300 enthusiastic artisans. As Sonipat resonates with the echoes of empowerment, the PM Vishwakarma Yojna continues to illuminate paths toward self-sufficiency for the skilled artisans of Haryana.
